Healthcare Cybersecurity Update: HSCC Proposes a Collaborative Path Forward to Sector Security Standards
The HSCC Cybersecurity Working Group is urging the federal government to pause the proposed HIPAA Security Rule. Instead, they’re calling for a consultative process with healthcare leaders to co-develop a flexible, accountable, and effective cybersecurity framework.
“First Health Advisory fully supports HSCC’s recommendation to initiate a consultative process aimed at aligning healthcare cybersecurity requirements between industry and government. This alignment is essential not only for the benefit of individuals and communities that depend on the integrity of our healthcare ecosystem, but also for national security and the resilience of critical infrastructure. We need to find the right balance of informed practice, with flexibility and accountability that does not overburden our health entities and sets a clear path of incentive to protect the business of healthcare and the safety of those served.”- Carter Groome, CEO
